I have two partial tears of my left hamstring. One up near where my hammy and glute meet and another more in the middle.
I basically haven’t been able to run for almost two months now. I was hoping this was just a small strain of some sort that would eventually go away but it wasn’t going away. Wasn’t getting worse but wasn’t getting better either. Finally went to the doctor.
Cycling is more or less fine as long as I keep it in the Z1/Z2 range. Any kind of real power and I can feel it. There’s no issue swimming.
I have my PT workouts to do and will do those diligently.
I have three 70.3 races later this year Augusta in late September, North Carolina in late October, and Florida in mid December. I think Augusta and NC are a lost cause at this point as I haven’t run since April and I don’t know when I will be able to run again. I’m hoping to salvage Florida on December 14th.
With the obvious YMMV caveat…
What have been other’s experiences with getting back to running with this kind f injury?
