I am looking on some feedback. Is the Retul system good enough that the person doing the fit with this system
is able to do a good job? Given the fitter is somewhat competent?
I suspect a traditional method of fitting depends on the experience of the fitter.
Basically, is it worth it to pay for a Retul fit if I am not able to go to Boulder and see them there?
Any fit will depend on the competency of the fitter. That being said, Retul is an excellent means of accomplishing a fit. More reliable than traditional measurement tools in theory (and IMO, it is more reliable in practice). A lousy fitter can still do a lousy job, but a good fitter can do a better job.
I got Retuled in Boulder last week. I definitely enjoyed the experience, and am completely satisfied with the end result.
you don’t always have to go to boulder, retul has fitters all over the country. i got a fit here in miami at a cycling lab and really cool to see how it works. check out the retul site to see where the different fitters are.
The short answer is yes. Retul is an excellent tool and the majority of folks using that tool (be it in Boulder or elsewhere) seem to know what they’re doing. That said, it’s possible to find a bad one in the crowd as well (again, in Boulder or elsewhere). I just had a fit done in Southern CA using Retul and was extremely impressed with both the technology and the fitter.
My recommendation is to utilize this site to search for info on particular Retul fitters in your area. The comments on this site tend to be pretty accurate and honest. I used the info on this site to make my decision and was very happy I did - the comments were spot on. With any luck, you can do the same.
