It has been proven that crucifixion and resurrection are bad for you. All that you really need is a couple of 20 minute cardio workouts, and of course, some strength training. Try to avoid physical labor or sports- you might get injured.

Ummm… wrong holiday. That would be Easter. You’re a few months early.
However, if you plan on bearing a cross anytime soon, I recommend a good training program. Training Peaks can probably work well. You have about 12 weeks to build the shoulder, quad and back strength and improve you surviveability while malnoirished and left bleeding for days exposed to the elements as well as preparing your soul. I can’t recommed how you divide yoru training time for each of the 3 disciplines… Cross bearing, Crucifixion and Ressurection. Don’t forget those transitions. T1, nails through the hands and feet really trips up some folks. T2, otherwise known as death can make or break you race. Unless your the son of God, I don’t recommed practicing this, rather having faith, preparing your soul by avoiding sin, asking for forgiveness and otherwise using visualization. Best of luck. I think he’s talking about the prevailing conventional wisdom that all you need is to walk 2 miles, 3 times per week and do some light weights, i.e. there’s no need to kill yourself with a hard workout like a 3-mi run, much less a 1/2 mi swim. Swimming and biking might be OK if you don’t over-do it, just a nice 10 mph on the bike and a leisurely 20-min swim covering maybe 400 m, breaststroke, with your head out of the water.
Seriously, about 90% of the population consider a 2 or 3 mi walk at 20 min/mi to be a “workout”. People at my work site complained when parking was moved such that we had to walk 7-8 min into the office, rather than right at the front door. And, if you came in late, you had to park up on the hill, such that you walked downhill in the a.m. but then you had to walk up this huge hill (around 100 yds, 150 max, maybe 40 ft elevation gain) at the end of the day, when we’re all so tired from sitting in our cubes all day:)

But how can one explain the value of discipline and pain, in the service of a non economic goal? How can ascetism be understood in the age utter softness.
Maybe there is some popular story that might illustrate…

And you won’t even buy a gym membership if you take it up.
