Replying to Posts?

How does one reply to a post on this form and get the little neat “In reply to” message on their post? When I click on “Quote” or try and use the reply/quote buttons below this textbox, they just seem to give me the ugly brackets? Anyone?

It’s probably a browser setting. After clicking on “Quote” you should see the standard post text window with the original text in between two lines, the top line being broken by “In Reply To”. What browser do you use? Do you have any special settings configured?

Interesting. I’m using Firefox. It seems to be “broken” on the Mac and PC version. Let me run over to my Windows box and see what the behavior looks like in IE.

Click on “Edit Profile” on the yellow bar at the top of this page, then “Display Settings”. About halfway down, you choose between “basic editor” and “advanced editor”. Select “advanced”.

Interesting! Well I’ll be… I’ve never seen the composition window look like this before. I guess this forum is coded for IE. Sad… :frowning: I really don’t like using IE, but I guess I will when I browse the Slowtwitch forums from now on (at least if I want all the fancy posting options).

Yeah. :frowning: The editor preferences said 5.5+ actually, but I don’t know enough about the changes in versions to know which is right.

Darn gforum being all IE specific! Why couldn’t they be more browser compatible like InvisionBoard, VBulletin, or PhpBB? :frowning:
