You will be able to buy a pair of blue Adidas Orions in SportCheck stores in Canada starting today, the same shoe Terry Fox wore in his marathon of hope 25 years ago… pretty cool idea for a fundraiser. Too bad none of them will fit me (mens size 6-13 only or so they say)… I’ll have to try a 6 and see how it goes.

Apparently there is a graphic of the Ontario leg of his run (map) inside the shoe! Just saw a pic in today’s Vancouver Sun showing it.

Andypants. This is very cool. These are the very shoes that I used when I started running track in highshcool in Montreal in 1980. I’m going out to get a pair on my ride home ! Maybe it will make me feel like I am a 15 year old again !

Amazing- I always get a lump in my throat when I read about Terry Fox. As I went through the CTV linked article, I had to catch myself from getting misty.
Nice shoes. I will look into getting a pair. And hopefully, I will FINALLY do a Terry Fox run later this month; I always promise that I will do it but don’t go through with it.
There’s only 6500 pairs being made so get 'em quick. Broke my foot doing the TF run three years ago, such fun.

Looks like this is a Canada only thing, right? Too bad. I remember watching the Terry Fox Story on HBO when I was a kid. Truly an inspirational story.
They look very familar to a pair of Adidas Jeans I had back in the day (hmm, I am getting more Canadian by the day). I loved those, they were denim blue suede and yellow trim. I still look for them when I am about, but no luck so far.
Looks like I am stuck at work late today before heading to the volunteer meeting for the Canadian Iron Distance race, so I won’t have time to get my Orion’s today. I hope they are not sold out at my local sportschek by tomorrow !

Holy crap, went to SportCheck and they had sold out of 65 pairs within about 1 hr this morning. Clerk said he might get some more in Sat morning, so I’ll try then. If you see these and they’re you’re size, grab them, they’re going fast.

I’m not surprised Andy, I went into the Strawberry hills store and was told they sold the last pair 120 minutes ago and that the Guildford store only had 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 in stock. I told the guy that I needed 9 1/2 but it appears they cannot be reserved or send to another store!!
Damn. Which store will you be looking in? If they have a 9 1/2 (US) could you snag a pair for me? Pay you on Sunday/Monday before the run.
I checked at Metrohell, which was probably my mistake. I’ll try Lougheed then Metrohell then Delta on Sat. If I see a 9 1/2 I’ll get one.
Andypants, I think I blew it by not going yesterday. Today, the whole promotion is on the front page of the Ottawa Citizen. I am sure there will be a run on these shoes by all of the 37-45 year old crowd who used them some time in highschool/college. Anyway, I will give it a try on my bike ride home. I really hope I can snag a pair.
