I’ve been riding with the same Speedplay Zero cleats for a couple of years now. I haven’t had any issues, but was curious if anybody would swap them out for a new set before their “A” race of the year (in my case, my first IM length…Wisconsin). I have a new set anyway that came with a new bike that I bought with Zeros. What’s the normal lifespan of these babies? Anybody had them fail on them during a ride?

I’ve used the same speedplay cleats for 5 years now and raced 3 IM. No issues with them at all. They aren’t Zeros so I’m not sure if that will have an impact but why change something that has worked well for you thus far?
I’m just paranoid that I’ll have something fail mechanically on the bike. I’m sure they’ll be fine…but I have seen a post somewhere around here that mentioned one of their Speedplay cleats failing during a ride, and I was just wondering if that had happened to anybody else.
