Well, i had a great ride with my father-in-law yesterday (sunday) morning, 160km in 5h20! He is 62years old and puts me to shame. That is where to praise ends as while i was asleep on the sofa he decided to clean the bikes (it was a dirty ride). So an hour later my wife gets home from her ride to say " do you know what my dad is doing?" Yes i told him to leave mine alone though “we he hasn’t”
So my 1 year old CAAD7 is in peices on the concrete driveway and he has taken every shiney edge possible off my most prised posession. WTF can i do? The front of the break levers are scraped a lot andthe rear mech is scraped a bit. I take a lot of care of my bike and in 20 minutes he has done more damage than i would do in a lifetime of ownership.
Can i replace the pointy and shiney bits on the front of the sti levers? Can these things be taken apart?
I am so sad about this, i guess only bike owners could understand. It is like someone running a key down the side of a new porsche but worse
