Repairing Carbon

I have a specialized trispoke that has a few very small chips in the carbon. Is there anything that can be put into the chips to reapir them?

Easy… I had to do this three times so far…

go and get some 2 part epoxy…mix it thoroughly.

Take acetone to the damaged site to clean it using a clean cloth or cotton ball.

Carefully, fill in the crack using the head of a small nail or even a pin. Just dip the pin head into the epoxy and then fill in the crack.

Once you have carefully filled in the crack, apply a peice of transparent scotch tape firmly over the damaged area. Allow 12-24 hours to dry. It cures a bit faster if it is under mild warmth.

Remove the tape, examine the crach and then carefully sand, excess epoxy using fine grit paper and water. Be careful round the carbon…

repeat if necessary…
