Repair of small chips in Hed 3

I recently obtained a Hd 3d which has a few small ‘chips’ or surface defects in it. I was curious whether anyone has ever undertaken homemade repair jobs on such flaws? Or would any business that deals in fiberglass etc be able to make the surface smooth again with some sort of clear coat?

Any advice would be appreciated.
