Work finds me in Stuttgart at the end of september. I’ve got a free weekend. Does anybody know of a place to rent a half decent road bike (maybe a soloist carbon or even a scott CR1). Would like to spend a couple days exploring the side roads.
Also, any advice on where to ride, etc. would be appreciated.
I think that you will have trouble findign a bike if you refer to the Soloist Carbon as “Half Decent”. If those are your standards you should just fly your bike over with you. It is only a couple exta hundred bucks
Mr hayes…by the end of Sept, there should be a whole whack of used Giant Carbon Fiber bikes, pre-used by Alexander Vinokourov that T-mobile will be gladly renting to tri-studs like yourself. In fact, if you contact Vino, he might be looking for some dudes to ride with 
By half decent I actually just mean a race geometry frame - components and slowtwitch approved positions not necessary.
No time to bring my bike over, I’ve got a whole 2 days to kill out of 14. Not worth lugging the machine through every airport in europe for that.
…there may also be some bikes kicking around at the Gerolsteiner HQ as Danilo Hondo is currently not using his mini fleet of sprinter bikes :-(.
