I’ll be at the University of British Columbia for 2 weeks in June, and unfortunately I won’t be able to bring my own bike up from San Francisco. Does anyone know of any LBS near UBC that rents decent bikes? Also, how much can I expect to pay for a daily or weekly rental? (I’m a dirt poor student) I’m doing the San Jose tri at the end of June and Half Vineman at the end of July and don’t want to miss out on two weeks of riding. Thanks!

Hmm… better thing to do might be to hook up with a local STer for a few rides and borrow one of their bikes. I’d offer but my other bike sucks, is probably too small for you (I ride a 49), and I live nowhere near UBC.

60 cm ultegra equipped specialized m4 with fenders (my winter bike). If you fit this, you are more than welcome to use it…new drivetrain, actually runs very well for a winter bike. As long as it doesn’t pour rain the whole two weeks you are here:)
no one rents road bikes here that I know of. Unfortunately I have loaned my 2nd bike for the summer. Try getting in touch with UBC Tri club they might be able to hook you up. The goodnews is there are lots of good running trails and also the beach for your runs. Also the 50m pools will be open (I think the outdoor pool will be open)
hey guys…i am 6’0" 150lbs so a 60cm bike might be a bit large for me (but thanks for the offer!). thanks for the tip about the UBC tri team, i’ll definitely shoot them an email. if i can’t rent a bike i might just have to make those run & swim focus weeks. thanks again!
