I am going to Corbett, OR this week and am looking to see if I can rent a road bike or tri bike. Probably start with a local bike shop or something. Does anyone know of a place that rents bikes out by Gresham/Corbett area? I know Corbett is a small town, so I am willing to drive in towards Portland to get a bike. I can bring my own pedals, helmet, shoes, etc. . just need a bike. I am 6’2" and normall ride a size 58cm.
Thanks!
Give Bike Gallery in Gresham a call, or River City Bikes down in PDX.
This is downright weird. I visited Corbett this summer. The downtown place (mentioned above, accessible by rail) definitely rents road bikes and they’re really nice; the Corbett shop said they don’t rent anymore because of ambulance-chasers. Great riding around there–have a good time!
Thanks for the suggestions!
My wife is from Corbett so we will be spending the weekend there. Is anyone in the area up for a ride Saturday morning? My wife seems to think that I would be safer with someone with me riding around out in the country. . .
Any other suggestions help. . keep them coming. Or if you know of a good bike route up that way let me know.
There are wonderful rides out there. I ride that area a lot though thisyear I haven’t been out that way with yet wit hthe weather so far. Usually I am. Great training with lots of hills etc. I can do a ride from my house in NE Portland ~ 60 miles with ~6000 ft gain actually in the 40 miles. 10 miles flat to & from.

Any specific suggestions?
ONe of my personal favorites is larch mountain road. I am not sure how high you will be able to go because of snow this early in the season.
Check out the rubber to the road guide. They have an online version now,

Yea the top of the road may be closed still. The snow level tonight is 1000 ft. Coming down it will be really cold & possibly slippery.
Well an easier ride is out to Multnomah Falls & back along the old highway. Will have a nice climb on both out & return at Women’s Forum. Plus they just re opened the tunnel at Onenata Gorge to bike & pedestrians that was filled in when they bike the freeway.
A tough loop but quite scenic & little car traffic is the Sandy River Loop.
