Renn DISK // Which tubular?

Hi Guys,

Today I did the first test of my Renn Disk... That was an amazing experience... it was my first time on disks....

The only bad thing is that last only 22 km.... I put an used Vitoria tubular tire, and I got flat... That was frustating because with my first experience with Disk it was my first experience with Tubulars also... I wasn't carrying a spare with me...so you guys know what happened...

My questions are ... which tubular should I use in my Renn ?? Are vitoria tubbies good ??? how many times can we re-install a tubular tire ???

THanks,

hello,

Generally all medium priced to high priced tubulars are good. You can install one as many times as you want. My experience is that TUFOs wear like iron, even without the optional flat proof solution, followed by contis. Durability aside you will get a huge debate about comfort and rolling resistance, so I’ll stay out of that one.

I’m really happy with my TUFO Jet Special and Jet Pro. Reasonably priced from bike stores. They hold air for weeks.

I’ve had good luck with both Vittoria (Corsa KS) and Tufo tubulars (S3-Lite 215). No flats yet. I sometimes carry a cheaper model Vittoria just as a spare I’ve also had one Conti Competition. No flats, rougher ride than than the other two tires, and also seems to be wearing quicker, but it came new already mounted to a wheel that I bought. I’m sticking to the Vittoria’s for now.

I’ve used all different types of tubbies. I prefer Tufo’s and Vittoria’s. I usually get about 3-4 seasons out of a tubbie, just reglue each year.
