Removing bike grease from clothing

Not sure how I did it but I got bike grease on my jersey. I washed it without realizing it was there and it didn’t come out. Is there a way to get it out or is it there forever?

Try rubbing dish washing soap such as Dawn or Ivory in it, before washing again.

Is it grease, or dirty oil (like from your chain)?

If the latter, I’ve successfully used Mineral Spirits on both clothing and carpet. (May work for grease, too.)

Steve

I guess it is from the chain. I didn’t notice it when it happened. I’ll try that. Thanks.

Simple Green and hot water. Wash. Dont use Tide or what ever, use some Simple Green. It even gets out car oil if I get some when working on the cars.

Give it to your wife…

ooh, ooh, ooh, that’s gonna get me in trouble with the women’s!

There’s a this round magic container in my bedroom I usually put my dirty close in. Why do I say it is magic you ask? Well a day or two after putting my clothes in it they end up folded and put away clean. This wife theory you talk of sounds interesting, but I am going to go on believing it’s a magic container.

Oh hell no! I am the laundry bitch in my house. I do all the laundry, folding, ironing…if I want it done right that is.

I like the simple green idea as a first try.

I have used the mineral spirits trick myself in the past and it did work…but I’d be worried about color-fastness…so that’s why I’m suggesting simple green first.

My girlfriend often tells me that I don’t appreciate all of the work that she does around the house. I tell her that it is actually the washing machine, dryer and dishwasher that are doing most of the work. I definitely appreciate them and make sure to get them cards for those special days.
