Time to switch up my tires on my tubies.
How do I flat the front tire (it has a valve extender) to get it off the rim?

Razor Blade?
Grab a small scredriver or bamboo skewer, and gently insert it into the extender to push down on the valve and release the pressure.
let me hold your hand

Ah…I tried a bigger allen key but must have been getting stuck on the end of the hole. Used a smaller allen wrench - worked like a charm.
ITYVM.
/thread - but leave it for other tube noobs.
I made a tool out of an old coat hanger that I use to let the air out…is that your question?
Yup!
OK, I took an old hanger, cut it a bit longer than the valve extender, curved one end as a handle, and carry it with me in my race bag so I always have it to deflate my race tire (which I still inflate higher than recommended here).
Cool.
What do you inflate it to?
While you are changing the tire, install the Vittoria Valve extenders as well. Operates as a normal presta valve and you life is much simpler.

+1.
I really like the vittoria valve extenders. I like knowing that the valve is tightened shut. But, the caveat is you have to have tubes with removable valves.
That’d work on my Evo CX - but I plan on mating that with my disc and a Conti Sprinter up front, so Zipp extender it is!
I just use a paperclip. I keep that (and don’t forget teflon tape) in my saddlebag just in case I end up with one of those flats where it’s not completely flat.
Them Sprinters suck .

I would have to agree…never been a big fan of Conti tubulars. Always amazes me how they can make such great riding clinchers, but their tubulars ride like cr@p, IMO.
I know you got your answer…but for other people:
a toothpick.
