I am having trouble getting my shimano 9 speed crank arms off - I’ve done it many times in the past but can’t remember how I did it. Its the black double crank - when I remove the cranks bolts its stuck on really tight and I cant pull them off for the life of me. Seemed like it was a pretty easy thing to do from memory - what am I missing?
You need a crank puller. The 9spd 105 is an Octalink BB instead of a square taper. Ultegra and up have self-extracting crank bolts.
that must be the problem - all my other ones are ultegra and up - should have gone ultegra my crank puller has given up the ghost - may just let the lbs take them off for me - am trying to fix a creaking sound that I think is loose bottom bracket cups.
