I have some Look Keo Carbons that have been squeaking. The cleats on my shoes are fairly new and the Keo’s are about a year old. I oil the springs regularly and wipe them down to keep them clean. If i want to rehaul them does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this or where to look for advice? Thanks
The bearings are all attached to the pedal axle. It is really simple to rebuild. Just use the closed end of an 18mm combination wrench to remove the axle, and install the new one. You local bike shop should be able to order the axles you need.
First, I would make sure that is the problem. Try putting a little wax based lube on the pedal surface. Some shoe pedal combos squeak. A lot of times is is the shoe rubbing where it contacts the pedal, and has nothing to do with the moving parts of the pedal.
One year is pretty early for a pair of Keo bearing to be worn out. Not impossible, but certainly not typical.
