Registration for next year open yet

Anyone know if registration for next year is open yet?

Since all their races are first year races, I would guess that they have some venue sorting out to do before they can advertise next years events. So far, I would leave a spot open for Clear Lake, and I would guess that it would be around the same time. The local people and city officials that I talked to, liked this time frame, because school was still in and the tourist season was a week or two away. It was a great jumpstart to their sumer season, and the weather was still managable as far as heat… It could go earlier, but I doubt later…As for Bradenton, I hope they replace that one, or if not, get huge concessions form the local government…

Thanks for the detailed reply Monty.

I am looking to do a longer race next year and am just concerned about missing out on other races if they fill up while I am waiting to see the schedule for next year.

Thanks.

Look for 2008 registration for select One O One events to open by the end of July. We are finalizing the registration and venue details right now for all of the 2008 events.

Don’t forget to register for the 2007 Triathlon One O One Championship at The Woodlands. Registrations are coming in very strong for this final event of 2007.

I suggest annoncing the races sooner. There are only so many long distance triathletes. I think one of the reasons IMNA gets so many is because a lot of people know the race is about to sell out and get e-mails from IMNA “Hurry, only a few spots left at IMCDA and IMAZ.” My wife and I each signed up for 2 IM’s that we did not fully intend on signing up for because we thought it might be a good idea, and there was no time to think. The few long course athletes that did not already sign up for an IM got snatched up by IM Louisville. By the time you announced your race in December, there were like 100 of us left who were not signed up for a 2007 IM. There is the additional competition from races like IM Austria which now fills up very quickly. I suggest at least giving an idea of where the races are going to be, and some kind of assurance that they are going to happen (I’m still very disappointed about Halifax which I signed up for almost immediately after it was announced). If you wait until late July, you are going to have 2500 people already signed up for Coer D’Elaine, 2500 people signed up for Lake Placid, and another 2500 or so signed up for 2008 European IMs.
