I sprained my ankle 18 days ago. I took 16 days off any activities - no s/b/r, no weights, no nothing.
Yesterday and today I ran different routes but very similar runs - 7 miles, ~7:46 pace.
I perceived the pace to be NOTICEABLY more difficult than a 7:46 pace (which I guess is the new “Eli pace”) before my injury. It felt more like what a 7:37 pace (my old settle in, relax, and enjoy the ride pace).
The question is: how long until I’m back at a 7:37 EZ run pace?
28 days 'till the Miami half!!
Thanks.
It will be back just keep what you are doing and go easy on the ankle a bit. I wish I could tell the difference between a 7:37 and a 7:46 pace
Keep what you are doing…meaning…?
On my run tonight, I contemplated sticking to my original plan of 3 EZ runs, 1 long, 1 tempo, 1 track.
OR.
10-14 runs a week, all relatively easy. Just to get back my aerobic fitness. Since that’s mostly what I’m going to need for Miami.
If I do that, I can probably get 40 runs in between now and the race.
I would do the first ? Is your ankle strong enough to not fatigue doing doubles ? I would think 4 easy runs, 1 long and one Tempo or track workout would do it. Just my opinion till you get or feel fully healthy
