Check out this article, oh and poor a glass or Red wine first.
It’s actually been a very big week for in the science of muscle.
In addition to resveratrol, the Dartmouth Study on AMP-activated protein kinase (or AMPK) was featured this week

On Monday, NPR did an update on the progress of Myostatin inhibitors (this is about the 10-year anniversary of myostatin)…

How long do you think it will take for that to get banned?
Chris
Without even reading the article yet- I will say it is GOOD-GOOD-GOOD all the way around. Sure, not TOO much…but GOOD!
So, what with all this genetic manipulation, how long will it be before a race of supermice takes over the world?
We already have… I mean… carry on.
If anyone actually READ the article, it looks like the scientist was dosing up the mice with enormous doses of resveratrol (the chemical found in red wine). Such doses can’t even come close to being reached by drinking wine.
how can these doctors realistically expect this to work for humans? wouldn’t it take dozens, if not hundreds of bottles of red wine to get this amount of reservratrol into the body? regardless, i like red wine and this is phenomenal news for vineyards associated with it.
Dr. Sinclair dosed his mice daily with 22 milligrams of resveratrol per kilogram of weight, and Dr. Auwerx used up to 400 milligrams. No one can drink enough red wine to obtain such doses.
But even Longevinex’s capsules would have to be taken in almost impossible quantities to attain doses equivalent to those used in the mice.
Well I can get you 100MG in a tablet.

For me (145 lbs, 66 kg), I would need 1452 mg to match the 22mg/kg dose in the experiment. That would be 15 of those pills in that bottle per dose. Something about that seems a little scary…
And you would need to have all of one muscle fiber type (like mice) and only run to failure!
exactly! but i’m still going to drink red wine and even good quality homebrewed stouts
are there other benefits to taking reservatrol in these smaller doses?
the guys who Make Recovox also produce the DCMF which has resveratrol in it.
go to www.recovox.net or www.primalnutrition.com
I’m curious how they get these mice to run to failure. Do they verbally threaten them? Put a gun to their head? I’m thinking either of these wouldn’t quite work, but I laugh every time I picture a scientist screaming at a mouse to bust it’s ass or else.

The equivalent dose is much lower than the mg/kg for mice since our metabolism is different.
Not quite sure what ya’ll are talkin’ about, but i’m tryin’ like hell tonight to increase my endurance… ![]()

I just finished my first glass of some real nice small berry mourvedre and I can already feel my stamina increasing…for drinking some more wine that is!
i’ve been near and around trentino… nice bottle of wine
