Red Bull users?

Who drinks it? Why? Before, during Olympic distance, Ironman? Risks/benefits?

I drink it before any race I do, I don’t drink coffee so my body doesn’t have a tolerance to caffeine. I think it helps to wake up.

I put one in my bike special needs bag in Lake Placid. I had never tried one during a race but they say it’s good to try new things in an IM. I guess it gave me a sugar boost followed by a sugar crash because I could barely keep my eyes open the last hour or two on the bike. Next time I’ll try diet Red Bull.

I started drinking Red Bull in the last few months. I find that I can drink it later in the day for a more constant pick-up, I don’t get jittery as I can with coffee. The best thing about it is it seems to help me focus more, which great the last couple of hours of work or when I have a training session after work.
