Recovery week question (1)

I did a big week last week (360 miles on the bike, 40 miles on the run, and 8 miles in the water), with my last big day on Saturday. I’m taking this week as a recovery week. However, my resting heart rate is up quite a bit (12ish beats), despite taking two full days off, and doing very minimal training during the following two days (swam twice, did one 30-minute trail run, and rode about 15 miles - all very easy). Does your resting HR shoot up during hyper-recovery mode? Should I take another couple days off, or am I ok continuing with some easy workouts? I was hoping to get back into my regular training schedule this Saturday, but I’m not sure it’s a good idea at this point. Advice???

Hey jhendric, I always feel like crap for about four or five days on recovery weeks…Then by the weekend I snap out of it and feel super strong… But yes, my hr is a little high for a couple of days…Remember your body is regenerating and that takes energy. I hope this helps…
