I need new tires for my road bike, for training, racing, and some crits. Last season I was using Vittoria Corsa EVO’s, until an end of season crash. Not sure if the tire was/was not at fault for the crash, but the hypothesis is that a front blowout started the show.
In any case, just looking for opinions. I’m not hyper competitive on my road bike, so I’m looking for tires durable enough to train and reasonable to race with.
Don’t train on your race tires.
Flats are less common and those around you will feel safer.
I race on Evo Corsas and train on Vittoria Rubino Pros or something thick and durable.
Evo Corsa’s are light weight and don’t last very long. Not good for training.
Hey as long as you guys are on the topic, what do you use for training rims?
I just put together my new tri bike, which came with San Remo carbon clinchers, don’t want to use those over the potholes?
Do you spend for decent rims (Easton, Mavic, etc), or just use any ol round rim?
