Recommendations for Vancouver bike shops

Greetings Vancouverites

I’m after a recommendation for a bike shop in Vancouver. Not one for a tri-bike, or even a road bike, I’m after one for a MTB for my daughter. Somethiing better than Sportcheck, but not as road-orientated as La Bicicletta. Some around the level of Corsa in Squamish, if anyone knows that particular bike shop.

TIA

North Van? John Henry, Dizzy, Cove, On Top.

Vancouver? Dizzy, West Side, Different, Dunbar, Simon’s, Reckless and many more.

Where do you live?

Thanks. London.

Ideally looking for somewhere that isn’t too far off the YVR to Lions Gate Br route. We have a summer place in Whistler, and I’m looking to pick up a bike for daughter #2, who’s now fairly close to fully grown. I’ll check those out.

I’m after a front sus mtb mostly for trails, but which she could take up/down the mountain at a push.

Reckless on W. 2nd near Granville Island or at the foot of Davie in False Creek, Dizzy at West 4th near Burrard St., and Simon’s on Robson near Granville.
Different Bikes on West Broadway near Hemlock is a good place as well, and it’s just across the Granville St. Bridge. The owner is a good lad and he will likely have what you’re looking for.
All these shops are close together and if you are familiar with the city they are all easy to get to.

Thanks. London.

Why not get one in whistler?..probably find used no prob or multiple shops in the village.

Price;perception that it’s cheaper to shop in the city; practical issue of more limited ranges/sizes, especially for what I want (there’s lots of choice for top end DH stuff, but that’s not my market).

Used is an option. Often quite a few on offer on the rack outside the Longhorn, Alton I haven’t really looked at them too closely. I’d guess the majority are full DH dual sus bikes though.

Thanks all for the tips. I’ll get my maps out!
