Recommand a good Road/Tri mechanic in Toronto?

Which bike shop should I go to ? I am tired of going to these stores and giving my bikes to someone who has been fixing BMX and hybrids all day long.

I’m in eastern Ontario, but there are some very good high end bike shops in Toronto. Of course they’ll charge you high end prices as well. I’ve personally found that the best solution is learn how to do it yourself, and failing that, I’ve found good mechanics in unlikely places, one being a retired guy who fixes bikes as a hobby in his home garage. If you know many other cyclists in the big smoke ask them for a recomendation.

I virtually don’t know anyone, I went to a pretty big store that looked to be well known too and they kept my bike for 5 days and charged a bit but the worst is that the problem returned again after just a week. I probably could have brought it back and asked them to redo it, but I honestly I want to ride my bike not to have it in a bike workshop for another 5 days.

Well there are the two Endurosport stores that specialize in tri and road bikes. There use to be a really good mechanic there, however, if you go there, tell them everything you want them to do. Don’t assume anything. Be explicit.

Ali…go to King Street Cycle and get Andy to work on your bike. He is the owner and does a great job. If you bring him a 6 pack of Sleeman Honey brown he will jump through the roof.
