Rear Drop Out/Carbon Frame Question (Help!)

Haven’t posted for a while but thought this was a great reason to jump back into it - last weekend I tipped over while waiting for someone (long story - wasn’t sure if I wanted to grab onto a fence and hold myself up or unclip - decided instead to just tip over - smooth, I know) and my right foot hit my rear drop out pretty hard. Didn’t notice any damage at the time but last night when I was out riding I hit a bump hard then heard a rubbing noise - stopped to check the bike and my rear tire was out of alignment and was rubbing against the frame. I couldn’t figure out what the problem was but then realized that since the tire was crooked it was likely something with the drop out - sure enough, the horizontal portion ( if this is the drop out: < I’m talking about the bottom portion) had pulled out of the frame about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. At first I couldn’t get it to budge but after tightening the quick release I was able to hit it a few times with the heel of my hand and get it back into place.

So my question is - do I need to worry about this or now that it is back in place is it good to go? How are they even held in there anyway? Do I need to get it re glued or appoxyed?

Thanks for your advice/opinions.

that does not sound good. Depending on the kind of frame you have the dropouts are sometimes bonded to the rear. you do not want to ride that bike until you get it evaluated and re-bonded at the very least. The next bump you hit coudl cause the whole dropout to come off and cause you to have a bad fall.

Be careful (BTW you picture did not show up)
