Real time race results and spoilers on slowtwitch

Wouldnt you think that someone able to read slowtwitch, that was interested in a said race, would be tracking the results making spoilers unecessary?

apparently not.

I’m amazed they even go to a sports forum knowing everyone will be talking about the race. It’s a mystery.

Mr. Tibbs: For the 2008 Presidential election, I would like to request in the lavendar room that you do not post the title until I read it in the paper. I don’t want anyone to spoil the results for me.

Not necessarily. Yesterday for example, left the house at 6:00 AM for a race and did not get back until 4:00 PM so had to catch the tour late. Unfortunately someone at the race blurted out who won so it was not a surprise - still cool to watch though without knowing everything. It is more exciting without knowing the result IMO. However, popping onto the internet, especially a sports related site, and expecting not too see results or get “spoiled” is foolish.

I agree.

I agree.

I have no idea what this thread is about, but if Tibbs agrees, I am with him on this one.

When Pluto and Tibbs team up other sare wise to stand aside and let the magic happen.

lol.

Dude, why are you harping on this? Slowman said DON’T DO IT. It’s his forum. Abide by his wishes.

Since your a bit obtuse about the meaning of my post, let me put into clearer language. if someone has online capabilities to read slowtwitch, that means they are online. if they are online, that means they can access any race results they want, therefore, there is no need to post any race results, period. get it??? so your problem is with those that continue to post races results, (like lake placid spoiler today)speaking of harping, i continue to enjoy your resposnes to all of the issues that cut a little close to your quick. If you need that explained let me know.

No - if the race (eg TdF) is on TV they might be taping/TIVOing it, so even though they are able to get race results they don’t want to get them until they can watch it later. If there’s no TV coverage, and the only coverage is online, then the spoiler issue seems moot.

Your second post doesnt say the same thing as your first, so the problem is not anyone else being obtuse, it’s your being unclear and rude. Now you’re saying there’s no need to post results here at all? Well it’s kind of hard to discuss a race/stage without giving away the results. It is, however, rather easy to mark such discussion threads with “spolier” so those taping can avoid it until they have watched the race/stage.
