Reading some of rappstar's old posts

I think he deserves some sort of medal for being as hardcore fast as he is a hardcore aero tech weenie.

I mean, who else takes Cervelo to task about stall angles and then goes out and breaks course records?

awesome =)

When you go that fast, there’s* no such thing* as a “stall angle”…

When Jordan passed me on the road I got caught up in his jetwash and very narrowly escaped from being sent into a flat spin.

Are you sure that wasn’t in the pool?

No offense to the man, but that wouldn’t be Jordan. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now MarkyV on the other hand…

I try to remind myself of that post regularly. Shows me how stupid I was (and probably still am). But also how if you don’t ask questions, you won’t ever find out answers…

I dunno you might be the first guy ever who put out over 275 watts for an hour AND worry whether NACA profiles are optimum for cycling or not.

Thats a pretty good IQ to Watts ratio at least

i don’t know, but this thread seems to have that norris/narwhal/sergio quality to it.

Rappstar is so fast he goes Mach 1. On his basebar.

I watched Jordan race Lifetime last summer in Minneapolis. The shock wave off his bike caused a decline in dairy production in several downwind counties and now milk prices are up.

I really enjoyed reading the article on Rappstar’s day at IM NZ and the picture of him his bike with his great bike fit. I used to look back at that picture to dial in my own fit, but the trouble is Rappstar is so fast he’s no longer in the picture anymore.

Heh… BS… I’ll be in T,Az next week… let’s swim.

Or at the very least get some REAL MEXICAN food.

I’ll go swim 1-2x this week to get ready for you. I’m up for s/b/r as much as I can fit in with you around work.

Ring me up when you get here or email a few days in advance.

I hate to end the chuck norris jokes

but looking back at these old threads

I can’t help but think of other times bike makers have been called out here.

often the response is “we can’t talk about this or that because its secret” or “we dont reveal wind tunnel data because you have no reason to believe us” or often the response is just silence.

but when rappstar called out cervelo about naca profiles and stalling

Cervelos response

“Yeah you are right that is why we don’t use NACA profiles anymore”

brilliant

I bet it is the lucid, rational responses of Gerard, and good engineer of Cervelo that has led to their success

that and Team CSC

HTFU crew is rollin’ Tucson for 8-9 days starting on the 14th.

You best be ready.

He’ll be ready to leave one second back in a SCY pool…

In addition to being equipped with whatever suit tested fastest in his latest round of trials.

Perhaps by the power of bacon I will be able to drop him. Hmmmmmm.

You know JM, you make a good point. Is there a “Top 10” of myths debunked by Slowtwitch?

I know I’m susceptible to it, but marketing is so out of control in Triathlon these days. It seems any gizmo that can make a triathlete faster will go for big bucks. Companies that were making a decent profit on items outside of triathlon re-market them targeting us and wham! big bucks. I’m thinking compression socks and that hand cooler thing.

Full disclosure, I wear calf sleeves, run in Newtons, have an aero helmet and paid way too much for my bike.

Anyway, it’s good that we have some sort of “peer review” on here, especially w/ aero stuff.

thanks!

Perhaps by the power of bacon…

Is that kind of like the power of Greyskull?

Nice guy as well - he was extremely helpful when I asked for advice on running an internal SRM cable on my TTX. He provided lots of detail and advice via PM.
