Re-post of bike position

It seems I am not able to respond to the comments in a post I started. So I have posted my pic again. Since this pic. I have taken some of the advice and lowered my seat and moved it back, to where it probably was last year when I had a FIST certifed guy give me the OK. I now grasp my bar end shifters which moves my elbows onto the pads. These changes did help the comfort. I do like angling the bars down, but wonder if that moves my elbows higher. Longer extentions maybe not needed now that I moved my grasp out a couple inches. Plus that will require a ton of modifications. Have you ever drilled out the extentions to fit the shiftters? Yes I am flexible enough to hold this position at least for my short rides now. A major perk of marrying a Yoga instructor. More advice is always better. I assume comfort will dictate my position and with more time in the saddle my body will adjust.

Thanks all,

I think you used all your bandwith.

OK I think I got this down. Resized pic and moved to a different web hosting site.

How about taking new pics and posting?

I don’t know why anyone bothers posting a position picture without a helmet. Your head position/helmet is a huge factor in overall frontal area/drag. In fact, out of the things you can significantly change, it might be the most important.

I will when I can bug my wife again or teach my 3yr old how to use the camera. Thanks for the advice all.
S

looks good. would like to see w/ a helmet as jens said. Also you could use about another inch or so on the aerobars extensions.

based on the pic, the position looks pretty good, but i’m guessing you’re never going to be able to get out of the saddle without banging your knees on the backs of the armrests. that’s okay with me if it’s okay with you, because you ought to be pretty much glued to the aero position anyway. but if you want to get out of the saddle, you’re going to probably have to go to a longer cockpit set up.

Banging my knees was a concern until I got the 120mm stem. Yes I probably could use longer extentions. For now I am just grasping out farther on the shifters about an extra 2 inches. It is easier and will not cost me another $140. I will post new pics later today after I ride and test it out again.
Thanks,
S

Find a local aluminium tubing supplier and ask for 22.2mm pipe, not too heavy gauge or you’ll not be able to fit the barcons in. Then you should be able to try longer extensions for ~ $10. Get them to cut at ~45cm. Then some black spray paint and you’re away

What size bike is that ??
I would guess it is a 52
how tall are you ?
you have a 31 inch inseam I would guess

Would they fit into the extentions? Because the Vision Carbon R bends have the elbow rests mounted directly onto the extentions.
S

It is a 56cm. I am 6’ 1" with about a 34 inseam. I will post more pics soon. I think I got it dialed in based on everyone’s advice. My ride yesterday was very comfortable and my power #s jumped up. Thank you.

Sorry, I thought you had profile T2s. Probably a bit of a bother to get the extensions off and glue on new ones. Need a bar that clamps onto the extension

A dude should not be allowed to call himself bella… Esp when advertising pics!

Bike looks small for you. Is it just the angle? Also, looks like you must be feeling a lot of strain in your wrists. Are those S-Bends, and are they pointed kind of down?

It is after my daughter. I have a small business named after her.
