Razor burns down under

This is not about shaving in Australia, although it may apply.

I have been shaving down under, down hither, where the sun don’t shine and I am experiencing razor burn and those very attractive little red dots. How do I prevent / get rid of them?

Damn! I thought this was about Ausie hotties.

it’s kinda gross but Desitin usually clears it up in a couple of days.

Try witch hazel after shaving. Even better (much better), though much more expensive (MUCH more), is Kiehl’s Blue Astringent (http://www.kiehls.com/Default.aspx?p=250). Nothing else I’ve tried works even remotely as well. This applies to your face, too!

Dear Mr. Direwolf:

Please be advised that the undersigned attorney represents the Estate of LoveTri…

Don’t be a baby, get a full leg wax!

Couple of options/suggestions

  1. If you’re gonna do that, a good exfoliation, almost daily will help expose those new hairs that are getting stuck just below the skin for just long enough to cause a little redness.

  2. Shave “with the grain” and don’t worry about doing a perfectly smooth job. You won’t give the hairs a chance to grow back under the skin for a spell before they pop out.

  3. Use an electric razor. Thats what I’ve been doing for a few years now. Braun makes a $30 rechargable one that works absolutely great. No bumps, no cuts. I don’t use it on the legs though, takes too long, but I don’t get bumps on the legs to start with.

  4. Use a little oil as a lubricant beforehand.

I will never admit to knowing all of this stuff.

Get out a loofah and start scrubbing. If the area starts to look inflamed and it lasts more than a few days, then get some antifungal, Lamisil is the best. Seriously consider whether you want to keep shaving.
