An interesting note… Cadel Evans and Rasmussen showed why mountain biking is good for everyone. Going through technical sections they kept their arms bent, bodies low and weighted their outside pedals (and you could notice them unweighting off their saddle) thus lowering their center of gravity and letting their bikes flow under them and cornering flawlessly. If you looked at the riders who crashed you saw them in corners sitting firmly on their saddles with arms locked keeping their center of gravity much higher (and also their bodies were much more rigid)… just begging for a crash!
Way to go chicken!

So what is the reason for all the non MTB guys who went through with no crashes using the same positioning?
you guys missed the point…for the 4th year in a row leipheimer has choked again. what in the world was LA thinking when he brought him on discovery. would of been much better to leave him home and give tom danielson the experience of riding in the tour
Be careful - don’t get yourself slowmanned. I know the guy is in the news on various fronts but nothing that directly impacts on this year’s tour or today’s ride.
I know I know - I’m as prepared as anyone for the traditional post-tour fall-out I’m just saying that right now that sounded to me like specualtion of the type that gets the powers to be irate.
