Rasmussen Keeps his Stage Wins?

I assume that, in the absence of a positive drug test, Rasmussen gets to keep his two stage wins. There are people (me included) who are glad to see him out but we need to understand that a TdF stage win is career-defining for many a cyclist and it appears that he will get to keep those two victories.

As a fan of the sport (the sport, not necessarily the athletes) I think it is great that this tour is falling apart and that sponsors are pulling out. I guarantee you that there will be many more Chipotle/Slipstream style teams next year and if you do not self monitor than your riders will be suspect when the race starts.

From what I have read, is that since he was withdrawn and not removed by the organization that yes he will keep his stage wins.

I don’t think it is good for the sport to have all these problems. I am glad that they are kicking out the whole teams now, this is a good idea because it increases the incentives for teams to monitor the riders. Doping will never go away, but if they want to limit it then they have to increase both the chances of being caught and the cost of it. Seems like they are getting there, slowly.
