…less than three weeks out from its original date, and is posted in a different site, one full week earlier than planned?
Brazilian Natls were scheduled, right till this afternoon, for the June 18-19 weekend. Not many details where available, outside from location and date.
Today, the cycling federation has a link on their main page, changing both the location (to a different state! - some hundreds of kilometers away) and the dates - now scheduled for June 11-12, one weekend before. Then a number for registration, and that’s it. No course profile, no distances, schedule, nada (hopefully to change in the next few days - I’d really not find out at the start of this supposedly flat race that, opps, we’re actually finishing up a 3km, 9% climb, tackled 12 times or something.). How is one supposed to prepare for a race like this, by the way, finding out the course profile less than two weeks from the event?
I’ve had all my personal dramas this past two months to keep me training, for what has been the main objective of my season, planned since late last year. What about the guys coming from abroad who booked flights, perhaps entire vacations, even worse, someone’s entire season peaking for this race gets lost because they can’t keep a schedule or have the balls to call it off?
Not for any reason Brazil is such a great powerful cycling nation…
there, off my chest.
greetings,
