I just had a random case of Powerbar Perform show up via FedEx; I didn’t order it and don’t have a clue where it came from. Did I miss something? Has anyone else received one?

Excuse my ignorance, I didn’t know that meant they’d be sending me a case to sample before hand especially since the press release says it’s not available until 08 June 2010…
And there will be a not random $29.99 dispute immediately following.
I got an email from IronmanConnect which said, in part,
“As a Ford Ironman Lake Placid athlete, we are offering you a complimentary case of the new Ironman PERFORM sports drink to utilize during training. It should be arriving at your home by June 11. We want you to begin using this product in preparation for race day and would also like to offer you an exclusive discount, beginning June 8, available at both www.PowerBar.com and www.ShopIronman.com for purchase of additional product.”
I have not received my case of the the Powerbar Perform yet.
Because of Powerbar’s new relationship with WTC, they have offered to send out a case of the new Powerbar Perform beverage to athletes signed up for races such as 70.3 Rhode Island etc. So they will have a chance to get familiar with the drink that will be available at the aid stations at those events.

The same flavor you will want to spit up come race day, but at least you geat a chance to train with it.
I remember when many races switched from Gatorade to Heed (aka. Heave). the rapid change to a new product was not a great feeling.

I, too, received my 12 20oz bottles today.
I cannot drink the Gatorade Endurance without puking, and I’m really hoping this stuff goes better for me under racing stress. On the ingredient list, however, it appears verrrrrry similar.
(I wonder how orange mango tastes on the way back up)
My coach is adamant that this stuff will be no easier on the tank than the Gatorade stuff and, like you said, the ingredient list is very similar. I’m giving it a shot but I fear I’ll be sticking with HEED.

Gee, if this is all the same as Gatorade Endurance, what POSSIBLE reason could Ironman have to switch from G.E. to “IRONMAN” Powerbar Perform?

Ok, I got my case last night, and even though I don’t use Gatorade or such, I was giddy as all hell opeing it up. I love free crap. I know I paid a billion dollars for a WTC event, but this was unexpected on my behalf.
And for the record, this is genius of them to do. Free now to train with, so you’re not suprised on race day and have all of Slowtwitch.com posting how sick they got on the new formula and how is caused the worse race splits ever.
