Ran outside in shorts today

It’s 44 degrees so that was probably stupid, but at least I wore those high socks. People looked at me a little weird. It felt good to not be wearing 6 pounds of clothes…

44 degrees is plenty warm for shorts Tom. I’m about to head out for my run today and it will definitely be in shorts (if it is above 0 and not crazy windy I always run in shorts!).

Not warm enough for shorts in my neck of the woods, but I dressed pretty light for my runs the past two days as well. It feels so nice and light!

its in the mid-upper 50’s and raining here. im not even considering being outside today.

and if i was id be decked in a snow suit

We could use the rain to get rid of some of this snow…

Tom,
I will be running in shorts today. I know I live in SoCal but it’s raining/T storms and 55. Cold and crappy for us.

I ran in shorts 3x this week. i could have run yesterday (at lunch) and today as well, if I waited beyond 8:30am for it to warm up. Denver’s hit 55-70* F for the past week!

I’m enjoying it while I can. High this coming week are “only” in the 40’s, with some precipitation. Still too dark/cold before and after work.

I run in shorts straight through the winter. Unless its 5 degrees I’m out there in shorts. I hate running in pants and I hate long tights. Good thing I never shave my legs!

Just got back from my shorts run. It was 4C outside and the “warmth” is doing a great job of clearing the roads of all the snow and ice. I did one of my regular loops running 4:20/km pace for 14k and it felt so easy to not have all the extra clothing on or fight for footing on the snow and ice.

You do know that the high socks are part of the uniform of a gang banger?

**It felt good to not be wearing 6 pounds of clothes… **

In the immortal words of flozert, “WORD!”

I wore a pair of running pants, a long sleeved coolmax T, and a fleece. I also had a beanie type hat on. About 5 minutes in I was trying to remember the last time I actually overdressed for a run. Several months I’m sure.

Pics or it didn’t happen.

(joking of course)

Off Topic:

Question for any of you who braved the cool air to run in shorts today or recently. Are you the same people I see at running races who don’t wear shirts? Who are these guys?

EVERY running race I’ve ever done, no matter the temp/weather, there’s at least one guy without a shirt on.

No man. I look dumpy right now coming off heart surgery and only being at the beginning of my training.

I’ll run in shorts down to about 32f. But under no circumstances will I run withuot a shirt or singlet. It just seems either highly pervy or narcissistic to me to go full bareback. Plus my abs are so chisled that they’re like a cheese grater. If I didn’t wear a shirt and someone inadvertently brushed my abs they would likely lose a finger. Little known fact: my abs are the only natural substances harder than diamonds.

Ran in shorts and a short sleeve shirt today. It was 70F, I was absolutely burning up. Two weeks ago I was in a race where the actual temp. was 20F, but with a 20mph wind that dropped the windchill to 5F. Oklahoma is known for it’s crazy weather. I suspect we will have at least one more cold snap, maybe two, but I see the light at the end of winter’s long tunnel.

Yesterday here it was 47 deg CELSIUS with winds of 100kph. Unfortunately the inevitable result was devastating fires throughout the state and many lives lost.

50*F in Columbus!!!

Finding inspiration in Tom’s post I too ran in shorts. Not just shorts though, tights!

Do it in style, or don’t do it at all.
Still trying to convince the wife to let me race al Sultan style.

I did the same here in SE Iowa. Upper 50s, shorts and a drifit shirt. Actually a little underdressed, should have had on a light long sleeve shirt…but still not bad for the 7th of February. Might have a chance again tomorrow, depending on when the rain starts.

No kidding who would have thought my first century was going to be in iowa in feb.
