We just got a new (used) mini-van and I am not too keen to transfer my Bauer Revolution from the old van. I have 2 main complaints about it. One, it’s very heavy and I’m the only one in the family that can handle it, at least for the next couple years. Two, It doesn’t hold odd shaped top tubes so it’s a pain with my kids’ mountain bikes with oval tubes. My criteria for a new rack are:
Hold 4 bikes, with various tube shapes
Hitch mount cuz a roof mount on top of a van is unwieldy and I know my wife (or I) will drive it into an overhang with bikes on at some point
Swing away feature
Lockable
Have ski rack conversion
Not too heavy
What do you have that you love and think I will too?
