Racing/ Training in hot weather & Glycerol

Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about Hammer’s Liquid Endurance product or the concept of using glycerol to perform well in hot conditions in general?

Here is the link to Hammer’s product, which sound like it deserves a test before the hot sucide mission in Louisville in two months.

Tried glycerol (not the Hammer product exactly), and I felt like all it did was grease my insides. Most of my friends that tried it had similar experiences. We all spent a lot of time on the john. I’d definitely test it out if you are thinking about using it.

glycerol is a sugar-alcohol. Sugar-alcohols are known to cause GI distress most commonly gas or diahrea. The amount in this product may not be enough to cause more severe side effects like the runs, but I want to avoid stopping to dump in a race if at all possible

Ditto what Rappstar said. I tried it, had the same experience a couple of times. Running in hot weather is tough enough without the added dehydrating effect of pit stops every 2 miles. I do NOT have a tough running stomach though. Or maybe it needs to be taken earlier before a workout? Anyway I gave up on it.
