Anyone know where to find a list of triathlons that draw over 500 participants? I’m trying to pick a few more races to get my pro card. Thank you!

Are you in the US (i.e. are you trying to get a USAT pro card?) If so, you could check the USAT calendar. You can’t do a search on race size but the projected number of particapants is often listed for future races. With the old calendar, you could also look at a results summary for the race that listed the actual number of finishers but that appears to be gone.
You may also want to tell us where you’re located…doesn’t do much good to hear about races > 500 in CA if you live in FL.
P.S. I’m in the Midwest.

Warning: don’t go by the USAT “projected number of participants” alone. Last year my wife was in the same boat and signed up for a race based on the USAT projection. It ended up with barely 100 competitors. Lesson learned: look at last year’s results first!

One’s that immediately come to mind are Muncie, Warsaw and Mideast Championship(this year it’s in Sylvania, OH)
I think Galena regularly has over 500 also…
The Waterfront Triathlon in Chattanooga should max out at 1200 racers, plus the amazing race Mountain Lakes Tri in Guntersville, Alabama should have close to a 1000. (both team-magic.com events)
Check out also www.trifind.com and look at race results from previous years.

Spirit of Racine
Accenture Chicago
and next year’s Rockman !
Lifetime Fitness Triathlon has thousands in both races
Many races in the popular Midwest Multisport Series get close to 500 finishers. The big ones remaining are…
Lake Waconia had 436 finishers last year http://www.midwestmultisport.com/Results/06waconia
Heart of the Lakes “long” course (0.5mi/20.5mi/5.3mi) had 520 last year and is the most competitive amateur race in Minnesota http://www.midwestmultisport.com/Results/hotl06-long.htm
Turtleman had 744 last year http://www.midwestmultisport.com/Results/turtle06.htm
Pigman 1/2IM had 439 last year http://www.midwestmultisport.com/Results/pig206b.htm
Forgive me for not knowing, but is their a minimum distance as I know of at least 1 sprint in the midwest that get that many people.
No minimum distance. If you had finished high enough in Pigman sprint, Quad Cities sprint and HyVee all in the last month, you could get a pro card. The pro card would be good for any distance.
I don’t know if any other races in Iowa will hit 500 though. Pigman half maybe.
In MO, the Halfmax/Quartermax races might get there.
