I saw an article about these guys in triathlete magazine. It sounds like a great idea and I’m wondering if anyone has rented wheels from them?
I have been debating about getting a set of 808s, but I would like to try them out before I buy them.

saw thier booth at Wildflower. The wheels were in top notch condition with tufo tires. The guy is a former pro, well still part time pro, triathlete and a cool guy except for him coming out and beating up on us at one of our local Hawaii tris last year;) If $85 or so is worth it to you to rent wheels it looks like a great deal. A friend of mine who was 11th at WF long course may rent some 808s for the Honu Half Ironman we are having here in Hawaii.
Doing the math, it makes a whole lot of sense, particularly given that in 2-3 years, you’d likely want the latest model.
I visited their site after seeing the blurb in Triathlete, but I never saw anything that said how much it costs to buy the wheels (if you want) after renting them. They said the price of the rental was deductable if you bought the wheels, but I couldn’t find any more info than that. Can anyone else find the info on their web site? Sounds like it might be a good deal if priced appropriately for used wheels.
Great Idea.

It looked to me like the prices were just slightly below MSRP, basically the same prices that Nytro, RA, Mission Bay, and all the other big retaillers are selling them at. From what I could tell, the wheels they were renting out were all new, although this makes no sense whatsoever.
I’m pissed I didn’t think of the idea first!
Have a friend that is going to rent some Zipps for TT championships in AZ. I’d give you a report if he does
I think its a great idea if you want to try something out before you buy it. If you want to see what riding a disc is like, what better way then this!!!
