RaceDay & Garmin 405

So I have a 405, which I love, but I’d like to get some software that will do a better job of logging my workouts than Garmin’s Training Center. I used the free trial of RaceDay over the summer, and I really liked it, but I use it on my Mac, and Garmin hasn’t released the AntAgent software for the Mac OS yet. I’ve got a boot camp partition with XP, which is how I export my data now, but has anyone out there had the same problem and actually found a workable solution?

i have a 405 and a mac, i have never even attempted to link it, still waiting on the drivers from garmin.

For those who are interested, I just stumbled on a freeware program called LineBreak, which converts text files from and into dos, mac and unix formats. I tried it with my Windows .tcx file, and after emailing it to myself, running it through LineBreak, and the importing into a free trial of RaceDay, the information came up. It’s not perfect, but it seems to work pretty well.

thats overkill, in the garmin center just export the tcx file and in race day click on the green bubble next to the date and open it up. its still a 2 step process but its bullet proof.

not sure if you are running bootcamp, parallels or fusion but emailing it your self seems like over kill when you can simply mount a drive in windows of your OSX home directory. save it to your documents or wherever and in race day open the file from there. It will import it into the database.

Drivers became available yesterday. Downloaded and transferred today. It actually works!!!

If you are using boot camp already, check out sport tracks

I just got a garmin 305, on the garmin website, you can get the Garmin Training Center for Mac OS X, once I use that to upload the data, I use Trail Runner X to view/plot the results. http://trailrunnerx.com/

Training Center for Mac has been out since Oct. 2008 http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3339

Link? I can’t seem to find them on the website.

Try this:

You need to go to Garmin Connect. Click on the link at the bottom “Mac getting started pages” to go and download ANT Agent for Mac.
