I am planning on doing the Steelhead half on August 4th as my A race of the year, and am curious what the experts on the forum have to say about doing another half on July 8? Is four weeks enough time to recover and properly taper? Would I be better off playing it safe and doing the Olympic on July 8 instead? So far this year I have done a couple of sprints. My longest race to date is one half ironman I did last year. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
Your recovery time has everything to do with it. Only YOU can know that. Some people can do back to back weekends of long course racing. Other’s need a month to recover.
