It seems like I’m in the minority, but I enjoy race tshirts. I still have shirts from my grade school competitive swimming days. Granted, they don’t fit, but I’ve set them aside to have them made into a quilt or something.
The value of race shirts is a bit sentimental and probably worth more to me than the medals. What am I going to do with a bunch of finisher medals besides collect them in a drawer? I usually train in race shirts so the more tech shirts I get, the better as I won’t have to do laundry as often. It’s not overly important that I get one and would probably prefer one included in the cost of racing than buying one at the point of registration.
