Race Day rental wheels etiquette question

This question might answer itself, but is it kosher to ride rental wheels a little bit before a race just to check them out? I guess the answer really depends on how willing you are to accept the cost of the risk of doing that. Any thoughts?

For reference, I’m planning on renting 808/zipp disc clinchers for a flat 70.3 in April…

I’ve used RDW several times…Once I get the wheels mid-week, I mount them up and give them a test ride or two before the race just to make sure they’re sound. I don’t see any harm in it.

I also buy the insurance.

I would be surprised if the company didn’t expect you to take the wheels for a shakedown ride or two before the race.

They give 'em to you for a week for a reason…

(ok, 2 reasons. that one and so you get hooked on them and buy them :-))
