Why is the New Orleans Ironman 70.3 not listed in the Calander here for 2009? There are others also like the Meat Pie Tri.
i have about 1200 event directors in my database, and they have all gotten many emails asking them to place their races on our calendar. still, some have not done so. but they’re trickling in every day, and we have about 800 races up on our calendar for the 09 season. this is probably 600 races short, however, of where we will be.
about this time of year we announce that we’ll give away a free slowtwitch apparel kit to any of our users who do the work in place of the organizers of these races, and update 50 races from 08 to 09, or if the race is not on our 08 calendar, establish a new listing for the 09 race.

the reason it’s best to update an existing 08 listing is because we have a trail of reader input that follows these races: people who’ve rated the race across ten or so categories, and comments geared toward those who might consider doing this race (where to eat, where to stay, is it a good race, a bad race, what’s good or bad about it). if you establish a new listing for the 09 race, you lose all that accumulated user data from the historic listing. that’s why it’s better to update an 08 listing to 09, and it’s also easier: usually you just have to change the date, maybe the cost, and the race listing is updated.

OK I think I did it. I just entered the race directors info off of the website. I will do a few more.
