Rabid coyote bites cyclist

This happened right across the street from where quadzilla and I work. One more way to have your day ruined.

Just what I need … one more thing to worry about when I’m biking.

Still, I think I would rather deal with rabid coyotes than some of the rabid drivers out there.

They marked off about an eighth of the park where they think the coyote den is and won’t let people (runners, hikers, cyclists or otherwise) in there. A joke! I read that coyotes roam something like 15,000 acres. Those things roam the park system and people’s backyards all over NE Ohio. I guess you need to make sure your pet is vaccinated too (the vet gave me a good warning the last time I had our cats in for their shots).

Chuck, have you seen the red fox that’s been around Campus II for the last 2-3 weeks?

Haven’t seen it myself, but the girl I sit next to has. Wondered why they had that area roped off.

100’s of people a day walk within about 30 feet of where they think the fox is living, the company puts up some ropes to keep people away, but don’t tell anyone why. ???

It’s Monday at Noon. I can see a fox napping in the garden out my 3rd floor window, 20 feet from the main entrance to the building. Co-workers say there 3 of them there over the weekend. They seem way too comfortable so close to so many people.

I wouldn’t worry much about a fox, they are pretty much housecats with extra big fluffy tails.
Coyotes, though, are something to keep an eye on.
