RAAT - Race Across Atlantic

Hello All,

Saw a cool pedal Hobie kyak today. Now I want to try pedaling one and see how fast it goes.

Looks like a neat way to get a bike workout.

The Hobie uses two articulated fins under the boat - no screw - sort of like the Zero Gravity SubHuman concept - human power projected to sea creature propulsion http://www.subhumanproject.com/ (Check out the video)

Competition is developing in pedal boats …

**John Howard set a record in a pedal boat that was just broken by Greg Kolodziejzyk - **

Greg is the fastest man on earth - with a world record set in 2006 on a race track in California for the most distance covered by human power in 24 hours on LAND. Greg powered his custom made carbon fiber bullet bike “Critical Power” an incredible 1046 km in just one day on a race track in Eureka California on July 19, 2006 breaking the existing world record by a whopping 26 km. Greg has also finished 11 Ironman triathlons and qualified for Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

If the SubHuman project is a success will RAAT (Race Across Atlantic) be next? Will there be classes for surface boats and subs or open competition?

Cheers,

Neal
