How does the R2.5 compare to the Soloist? I am mainly interested in differences in geometry and ride quality as a road bike. Obviously we have the issues of Carbon vs. Aluminum and the multifunctionality of the Soloist design(road/tri)…but what about comparing them riding in the road position?
Thanks,
HC

Yeah that will be cool.
I already have a '04 Soloist Team. I Don’t care about carbon…already have a couple carbon bikes. I am just interested in the differences in ride based on any geometry differences. Are they similar in handling, climbing, descending…blah, blah…

You can actually buy the soloist.
i have both…current year team editions…you can get the exact same fit on both bikes…
the R2.5 is much more comfortable to ride on 3+ hour rides…but the soloist is a lot more lively and stiff (in my opinion) and is great for my tris with some clamp on shorties.
you wouldn’t be disapointed with either…but you can get the soloist plus a set of wheels for just what you’d get the R2.5 for…
the carbon soloist, from what i thought i saw, will be much more expensive than the R2.5…like $800 more…
