R2.5 seatpost diameter

What is the diameter of the r2.5 seatpost (2005 model) - I believe its more than 27.2. Is it 28.6?

Thanks

I’ll take this one, guys. It is indeed a 28.6 diameter. Can I recommend a USE Alien carbon in a 27.2 with a 28.6 shim? That’s what I have on mine and it is an excellent choice (value for money too) but it is worth searching out the cyclops head which dispenses with the awkward double screw clamp system for a more “normal” single screw arrangement.

What build are you going for?

Build, still considering it. Known components are :-

Dura-ace 10sp drive chain and shifters. Zero Gravity brakes. SLR saddle.

Bars and stem - not sure whether to go carbon. qquite like the look of the easton ec90. Post to be decided, thanks for the tip.

Wheels - hmmm. As it’s for road riding & racing (not tri’s) except maybe a hilly course, I’ll probably go clincher but want to avoid mavic k’s - too common. Any suggestions?

wheels - easton/velomax circuit wheels. very solid and smooth.

I went the same route with brakes and SLR (carbonio) but used a Carbon Chorus/FSA Compact grouppo. I stayed away from carbon bars and stem as I wanted to be able to stick some shorties on for hilly sprint/olys.

Wheels? Well, I went for American Classics 350 sprints in black. A lovely looking wheels but check the bearings before buying. Once mine were changed they were awesome.

You will definitely be impressed with the way the r2.5 rides, I am blown away, it makes me look a far better rider than I am and is a thing of beauty.
