They actually do. They have a pretty solid plan moving forward if you want to DM I can give you the right person to help you
Does QR also produce in China and basically never has any bikes ready to be ordered?
Also not sure where you get that 3k price difference from. Iām paid marginally more the X-PR than for a Speedmax of similar quality.
Iām not en evangelist for any brand and not here to defend canyon
But ⦠I can order any bike I want from them right now. And itās been that way for a long time.
Are QR made in the US?
If you configure comparable ultrgra models from QR and Canyon. The canyon is 8,500. The VPRI (maybe thatās not comparable?) is 11,200
I like both brands a lot, and like both of my bikes (one Canyon, one QR) even more. I think their customization definitely comes at an added cost, but I think you can hit a good mark without paying too much more, esp since QR often has sales on.
On Canyon, I can only say that I waited for the Speedmax for several months until I opted to buy a QR X-PR. On my Canyon Ultimate I waited months and randomly got lucky one day checking the website, few hours later it was sold out again⦠Same a few months ago with my wife buying an Endurace, which hasnāt been available in her size for a long time and then only always for a few hours, if not minutes at best. At least my experience, their bikes are absolutely fantastic tho.
Replying to this and the next comment that mentions sales.
Thatās the difference.
Canyon club teams last I heard get a few percent, and there are few clubs that get deals. QR club teams are more common and get a higher percentage off. QR also has period sales with deeper discounts.
Itās probably smarter sales strategy in one sense because if you need a bike and need it now QR will take you money and profit. If you are patient or part of a club youāll get a better deal on QR. It also helps to establish the QR as a more premium priced product for those just looking at price.
The flip side is, Canyon might hold a better resale value since a club member who got a big % off QR is willing to drop price more. But Canyon has had some QC issues on various things the last few years that I do see occasional steep discounts on the marketplaces, leading me to wonder if some people just want to be rid of them.
