Is it possible to install QuickBook Pro 2009 on two separate computers and have the two computers work on the same company file so that when one signs off and the other signs on, that both are synchronized and on the “same page”? There’s currently no need to have both CPU’s work on the file at the same time.
Does anybody have an answer? I tried QB Questions but I don’t want to have to deal with constant backups, it should be easy and everytime one signs off, the other should get the updated version when signing on next time.
Thanks.
Can you just get their online version - that should do what you want.
I know at work we have a workstation with Windows 2000 server on it. The wokstation just sits there and others log into it remotely to do exactly as you’ve described.
If they’re networked, you could share the directory that has the Quickbooks data in it…use the existing machine as-is, then point the other one to the network share to get the data. Make sure you put some security on those shares, though…
I’m going to look into the online version as long as I can back up the data on my own CPU as well.
No, that wouldn’t work as they’re not networked. File sharing could work but then the computers would have to be on at all times, otherwise the other party couldn’t access it. Thanks.
